Philosophy #1: How To Be A Great PM!

Philosophy Friday begins...

Brett Nowak, CEO of Liquid & Grit, and I believe that our industry needs more real conversations.

As an experiment, we are launching a new content series called Philosophy Friday where we have informal but hopefully deep and contentious discussions about current topics related to the F2P gaming industry.

Anyway, since both of us have fairly significant experience as product managers we started our first talk on what it takes to be a great PM.

Further, I think you may find our differing perspectives interesting. Brett comes from having more of a live ops background (Zynga Poker, etc.) and with my experience working on new game title development. This is what we refer to in Peter Thiel lingo as either a 0 to 1 PM (new game dev) or a 1 to N PM (live-ops).

Also, fair warning about this series: we’re gonna try a lot of different things so bear with us! Also, we try to keep it pretty loose and casual on Fridays so how we talk maybe a bit NSFW.

Anyway, without further ado feel free to check it out. And if you’re the sensitive type or an exec at a big game company I may recommend you skip this altogether. Sorry!
