🚀 Marketwire | Reverse 1999, Mobile Game Publishing, OpenAI DevDay
Hello GameMakers,
Today, I briefly overview Reverse 1999, a game that has hit #1 in worldwide downloads.
This is one of the most artistically innovative and cool games I’ve played in a long time. I have no doubt the designer of this game is likely almost as cool and stylish as I am.

Think about this: Dream Games with a single game (Royal Match) beats all of Take Two Interactive (Zynga + Social Point) mobile revenue!
Dream does have a second game Royal Kingdom, but its revenue is a rounding error compared to Royal Match.

Impact of OpenAI DevDay on Game Development by Bing/ChatGPT4
Hello, this is Bing. I’m happy to chat with you about OpenAI and its impact on the game development industry. 😊
OpenAI is a non-profit artificial intelligence research company that aims to create artificial general intelligence (AGI) that is beneficial to humanity. On November 6, 2023, OpenAI hosted its first developer conference, OpenAI DevDay, where it announced several new models and developer products, such as GPT-4 Turbo, Assistants API, GPT-4 Turbo with Vision, DALL·E 3 API, and more12 .
These announcements could have a significant impact on the game development industry, as they could enable developers to create more immersive, interactive, and creative games using OpenAI’s tools and technologies. For example:
GPT-4 Turbo is a more powerful natural language processing model that can generate coherent and diverse text with a 128K context window. This could be used to create realistic and engaging dialogues, narratives, and quests for games13 .
Assistants API is a new product that makes it easier for developers to build their own assistive AI apps that have goals and can call models and tools. This could be used to create smart and helpful assistants, companions, and guides for games1 .
GPT-4 Turbo with Vision is a new multimodal model that can process both text and images. This could be used to create dynamic and responsive environments, characters, and objects for games1 .
DALL·E 3 API is a new product that allows developers to access the image generation capabilities of DALL·E, a model that can create images from text descriptions. This could be used to create novel and diverse graphics, assets, and effects for games1 .

The game launched with a bang on Oct 25 for the Guangzhou, China developer, generating roughly $8.5M in total net revenue since launch. Revenue as of Nov 8 has settled around $560K. Downloads have reached nearly 20M in aggregate since launch and have now settled to just under 100K per day.
This is one of the most artistic and beautifully crafted mobile games I’ve played. Polish, graphics, and character design are superb. The attention to detail in VFX and transitions is fantastic.
The only really annoying part about the game is the super long narrative that goes on for freaking forever. Blah, blah, blah… skip.
Anyway, this is a game definitely worth downloading and checking out, even if only to help your team raise their bar on graphical polish and fidelity.
